Unqualified installer – there will be no warranty
One of the most common mistakes that customers lose free after-sales service is the search for savings on air conditioner installation.
After buying the air conditioner, you decide that installation is too expensive for you, so you turn to your neighbour Peter. Peter is a great man, self-taught and knows how to do such work. After completing the work, your air conditioner stops working for some reason and you contact the dealer.
The first question of the seller will be whether the installation work was done by our company installers? Your answer will be that neighbour Peter installed it. In that case, the company will offer you to contact Peter. The stingy pays twice, unfortunately that is true.
Preventive maintenance is a prerequisite
Almost all manufacturers claim preventive maintenance of the device. With regard to air-to-air heat pumps, in other words conditioners, preventive maintenance must be done at least once a year. A common condition included in the document of after-sales service is that preventive measures are required. If you do not carry out preventive measures in the first year, it is likely that your warranty will simply lapse in the second year.
Ignorance does not release from responsibility
The only simple advice is to read the warranty terms. The excuse that you did not know about it, would unfortunately not work.
You change oils, straps and all kinds of other components in the car, exactly the same is here. Care must be taken for the item to function properly. And once you look into the warranty terms and fulfil them, you will be able to enjoy free warranty service without fear.
